Hello do you know how long the battery would last on this while using the GPS? Also do you know if it has a magnetometer? I need a tablet for fieldwork so will need it for 9 hours a day.

my wifi is not working . it turns on but can't detect anything . then it goes auto off then never turns on again . i did factory reset but it's still like that . I think I just erased all of my files for nothing (didn't back-up anything coz' I didn't think about it). Please help if this ever happened to you and you came out of this situation fixed. Thank you!

Hi everyone. For all of you who had problems with charging: do not replace your battery, or USB cable, they are OK. The charging problem comes after the official update (4.4.2), if you will downgrade it back to 4.0 or 4.1 it works fine (or use any custom builds from www)
Tested it and that is the fault: the official update 4.4.2!

Anonymous, 23 Sep 2015How do I update to kitkat? I'd recommend you upgrade to KitKat on N8010,8013,P600 models first; there is an official sumsung firmware you can get (use the EUR region if in North America or any european language; they all come with English as far as I know); otherwise pick a specific language region, you should still have english and be able to switch to it
1. go to this site to download two things: http://www.sammobile.com
2. create a free account (its a safe place and there images are stable - some of the other sites I tested have long wait times or are suspicious)
3. Download the firmware image, and Odin3 for a windows pc - both can be found there
4. **** uninstall Kies3 if you have it; but you can also use it upgrade - bit more tricker and less stable than Odin; needs more tech knowedge ****
5. Run Odin and APM box load the image you downloaded (unzip it first); instructions are on the same site as well
6. Reboot with debug mode enabled and re-image with KitKat image
I downloaded 4.1.2 for NorthAmerica (original image as under About My device look for VERSION after the N8010 i.e. JXXXXX.N8010XXUCMH2 is Jelly Bean 4.1.2 for Canada for example); then applied the KitKat version.
Guess next step if to figure out how to upgrade to lillipop - I've been told Samsung is not planning to release an update for lollipop. I have actually tested whether it can host lollipop with some diagnostics software off samsung site, and IT CAN; one option I have seen used is download lollipop 5.0 for P600 (firmware is very close and almost identical) which is available for lollipop - I'd recommend you do KitKat first > phased upgrade to limit HW compatibility issues with a big bang approach.
